Diversity and inclusion are key to growing our regional economy. The chamber helps minority businesses grow and celebrates their successes each September during Minority Enterprise Development (MED) Week. The 41st annual MED Week, presented by Apptegy, will be filled with unique events and networking opportunities designed to celebrate the outstanding achievements of minority entrepreneurs while also providing tools and opportunities for all minority business owners to grow and expand. The week's activities include the much-anticipated annual awards ceremony, presented by The Design Group, on September 15th.

How it works

  • Nominated businesses will be asked to fill out an application in order to become an official "Minority Business Awards Nominated Business." A link to an online application form will be sent to nominees June 2 - June 19.
  • Applicants will have until Friday, June 23, 11:59 p.m., to complete and submit their application online.
  • Applications will be judged anonymously by a group of judges from the Chamber's MED Week committee.
  • Finalists will be notified by Friday, July 7.
  • Finalists will be announced to the public on social media starting the week of August 7th.
  • Winners will be announced at the Minority Business Awards, sponsored by The Design Group, on Monday, September 15.

FAQS

Do I have to be a member of the Little Rock Regional Chamber to be nominated for an award?

Good news! You don't have to be a member to be nominated!

Can I find out who nominated my company?

Nominations are submitted online and, unfortunately, we keep that information private. But someone thinks your business is awesome!

Can I nominate my own company?

Yes, we encourage it!

What are the requirements to be eligible for a Minority Business Award?

Here are the requirements:

  • At least 51% of this business must be owned, operated and controlled by one or more United States citizens who are members of the following racial and social groups: African-American, Asian-American, Hispanic-American and Native-American, Asian-Pacific American, LGBTQ+, Veteran, or Disabled communities
  • Locally-owned and privately held in the Little Rock region. Check to see if you're located within the defined area here.

How are applications scored?

Applications are scored by a select group of business professionals in the Little Rock region. All applications are anonymous. This means we take all identifying information out of your application before the judges read them.
