Trucking and Motor Freight
Trucks dominate freight delivery. In fact, more than 87% of all manufactured goods shipped or delivered in Arkansas are by trucks. From apples to iPods, trucks and the people who drive them, deliver everything.
Some of the nation’s leading trucking companies and private fleets are headquartered in Arkansas. These include J. B. Hunt Transport, ABF Freight System, P.A.M. Transport, USA Truck, Wal-Mart Stores, Tyson Foods, and Maverick Transportation. Additionally, major expedited carriers like FedEx and UPS have significant operations throughout the state.
Collectively, the trucking industry in Arkansas employs more than 86,000 people, of whom 45,000 are truck drivers, and generates more than $2.5 billion in wages.
Central Arkansas is served by LED Enterprises, DCXpress, InXpress and every other major trucking and expedited carrier in the nation.
